How does volumetric weight work?
Volumetric weight:
40,0 kg
All around the world, shipping companies use weight or volumetric weight, whichever is higher, to calculate the cost of shipping. The reason is that larger shipments take up more space, which makes transportation more expensive.
Volumetric weight is calculated by multiplying the length x width x height of a package and then dividing the result by 3,000. Here's a simple example:
A package weighs 20 kg and measures 40 x 50 x 60 cm.
The package's volumetric weight is 40 kg (calculation: 40 x 50 x 60 / 3000 = 40).
To determine the shipment price, we select 40 kg the higher weight out of 20 kg and 40 kg. Which falls within the weight category of 30-75 kg.
Bring packages to a pickup point
Online stores can drop off deliveries at Dropp in Korputorg and at selected pick-up points.
Capital area
Deliveries that arrive at Dropp in Korputorg before 2pm on weekdays, or to other pick-up points before 12pm every day except Sundays, are:
available for pickup at Dropp locations in the capital area by 5pm on the same day
out for home delivery the same day between 6 pm and 10 pm in the capital area and in the southwest
available for pickup on the next working day outside the capital area.

Number and size restrictions at Dropp pickup points
We ask stores to not bring more than 5 deliveries in one trip to a pickup point. If you have more than 5 deliveries, it is better to book a pick-up or bring them to us at Blikastaðaveg 2-8 (Korputorg) in door D39.
Size restrictions, pickup points only accept 0-10kg in deliveries.
Let us pick up
We can also pick up deliveries from stores for a modest fee og 15.900 kr. incl. VAT per month. We only come if there is a package to be picked up. Please contact [email protected]
